Indy won’t run as much in previous years, but they do have
some weapons in their passing game, don’t you think? Indy scored 69 points in
two games against Houston last
year.

David Carr has TD pass in nine consecutive games vs. AFC
South opponents. He needs one TD pass to reach 50 in career. In eight career
starts vs. Colts, Carr has completed 61.1 percent of his passes.

Philadelphia’s
Donovan McNabb threw for 314 yards and three touchdowns in a 24-10 win that
left the Texans ranked last in the league in pass defense. The secondary gave
up completions of 31, 37 and 42 yards.

One week into the season, the Eagles are without their top
playmaking cornerback in Lito
Sheppard, and their best kickoff returner
in Bruce Perry. It’s the price they’re paying for keeping 20 linemen — 10 on
each side of the ball.

Perry was cut Tuesday to make roster room to re-sign
Dexter Wynn, the 2004 sixth-round Eagles draft pick axed a few weeks ago
because he wasn’t quite good enough to play corner and return kicks. Wynn
provides insurance in the secondary and might get a chance to return kicks
because Sheppard is out indefinitely with a sprained right ankle and running
back Reno Mahe is nursing a
high ankle sprain that sidelined him for the Eagles’ 24-10 season-opening
victory over the Houston Texans. Sheppard has a team-high eight interceptions
the past two seasons, two of which he returned for touchdowns. Andy Reid is 2-3
versus Tom Coughlin, getting swept last year after sweeping his counterpart two
years ago. The other loss came when Coughlin coached Jacksonville ..The only 2-0 start for Reid came
in 2004 when the Eagles triumphed in their first seven games after adding
Terrell Owens.

Dan Morgan will not play in Sunday’s game at Minnesota
as he recovers from a concussion.All-Pro
receiver Steve Smith
and center Justin Hartwig also missed practice Wednesday and were
listed as questionable for the game.

Drew Carter started in
place of Smith last Sunday and had five catches for 62 yards. But without
having to worry about the league’s top receiver last season, the Falcons
focused on stopping the run and held Carolina
to 65 yards rushing and 215 yards of total offense. Hartwig, who has a groin injury, is another concern
for the Panthers’ offensive line. On Sunday, Carolina
starting left tackle Travelle Wharton was lost for the season when he tore the
anterior cruciate and
medial collateral ligaments in his left knee.

is much faster and can grind it out better than any of their pathetic teams in
memory. Even quarterback Julian Edelman is mobile and has rushed for 115
yards. Especially with the new rules, Kent
will eat up the clock and shorten the game. It’s a tough spot for Miami,
facing a team they should beat, after two Big 10 foes. Miami
has three first year players starting at linebacker, and they are susceptible
to a letdown, which is key because Kent
as we said, can run.
