CFB

TULSA -10 New Mexico

Tulsa is averaging 50.5 points per game and now plays their first home game in a newly renovated stadium. All reports are that home field advantage and enthusiasm will be at a high.

Meanwhile, they are hosting a New Mexico team that has yet to play a road game, but already has a pair of losses of six or more points.

Tulsa quarterback David Johnson leads the nation in passing efficiency. He has completed 45 of 57 passes for 750 yards, 9 touchdowns and 79 percent completion rate.
In his second game, Johnson threw for 418 yards and six TDs – the most for a TU quarterback Gus Frerotte had six TDs against East Carolina on Nov. 6, 1993.
Johnson had 332 yards passing in the season opener.

TU comes into the contest ranked third in the nation in total offense with 578 yards, fourth in pass offense with 391 yards and seventh in scoring with 50.5 points per game.

Brennan Marion, the 2007 Conference USA newcomer of the year, broke a 30-year NCAA record last  year when he averaged 31.9 yards per  catch on 39 receptions for 1,244 yards.  This season, he has caught eight passes for 232 yards and a 29 average per reception.  He had four receptions for 125 yards against UAB in the season opener.
Again, all this was on the road. This is a big home opener and it’s rare when it’s the fourth week and a team is playing their first home game to a squad playing their first road game.
