2009 Big 10 Odds Sees Michigan State the Favorites; Xavier in A-10

The Las Vegas odds to win the Big Ten Conference men’s basketball tournament are out. Michigan State at +120 is the favorite. Brian Gould of ScoresOddsPicks.com commented, “At one time Tom Izzo was considered the best March Madness coach by bettors,” though he’s fallen back to earth in recent years. Izzo is the Spartans head coach.

Purdue is next at +250, followed by Illinois at +300, and Wisconsin +600.

Sports handicapper Bill Tanner, who is documented by the MasterLockLine as the all-time Big Ten expert, has predicted the Illini to come out on top.

The Atlantic 10 Conference begins play Wednesday as well and Xavier is the overwhelming favorites. Dayton is next at +225 with Rhode Island and Temple each at +350.

Stevie Vincent, Senior Handicapper at OffshoreInsiders.com says the Hawks of St. Joseph’s are his favorite dark horse of any conference tournament. “They are skidding at the wrong time, but talent wise they are much closer to the team that started out at 7-1 in conference play.”  The Hawks did annihilate Fordham to end the year and will get gain confidence with each win. “Watch them if they are not knocked out early,” insists Vincent.
