Handicapping notes: Vikings starting QB Brett Favre will not play, but now three players are battling for two roster spots behind him: Tarvaris Jackson, Sage Rosenfels, and John David Booty.

Dallas starters will play sparingly if at all.  That means they will lack depth as six of their 12 rookies have gotten injured this preseason.

49ers vs. Chargers

Handicapping notes: San Francisco will play their starters 10-12 plays though RB Frank Gore and WR Isaac Bruce will be healthy scratches. Only a handful of roster spots are open according to Niner coach Mike Singletary as 20 players will be cut tomorrow.

Backup QB Alex Smith will not play, so Nate Davis, the fifth round pick from Ball State will play the rest of the game after Shaun Hill leaves.  

LaDainian Tomlinson will not play for the Bolts. His backup Darren Sproles is doubtful.
