NFL Betting – Survivor Picks For Week 1

The NFL betting season is back, which means fantasy football and your local NFL survivor contest is getting started. With that in mind, you need to make some picks for Week 1 and you better make sure that your NFL picks dont‘ screw you in Week 1 of the survivor contest. After all, the idea is to – in fact – survive.

Here’s a look at some of feasible sports picks for your NFL survivor contest in Week 1:

Buffalo Bills @ New England Patriots

Line: Patriots -10.5

The Patrioots are the biggest favorite on the board, which means they’ll be a popular pick for your survivor contest. At home, on opening night, with the return of Tom Brady, it’s hard to see the Patriots losing that contest.

The Buffalo Bills have a weak defense and their offense is a work in progress. Their offensive line is shoddy, which means matching points with the Patriots might be difficult. Also, the Bills will be without running back Marshawn Lynch, who has been suspended for the first three games of the season.

The Patriots are a safe pick.

Detroit Lions @ New Orleans Saints

Line: Saints -13

The Detroit Lions are getting better but right now, they are still in the development stage. That’s a big issue for them considering they are facing one of the best offenses in the NFL in week one. The Saints defense has improved as well so this is going to be a complete whitewash. Look for the Saints to run up the score and win comfortably in this game.

San Diego Chargers @ Oakland Raiders

Line: Chargers -9

The San Diego Chargers will be another popular pick this week because betting against the Oakland Raiders is usually a good idea. The Raiders are completely dysfunctional and their defense has been pathetic in the preseason. In the four exhibition games, the Raiders gave up nearly 800 yards rushing, which is a bad sign considering LaDainian Tomlinson and Darren Sproles are coming to town.

The only caveat is that the Raiders are at home but that may not matter here.

St. Louis Rams @ Seattle Seahawks

Line: Seahawks -7

If you’re looking for a sleeper survivor pick, take a shot with the Seattle Seahawks. They are an underrated team right now and they are facing the feeble St. Louis Rams. The Seahawks protect their home field advantage very well and they shouldn’t have too many problems shutting down the Rams in week one.

Tulsa vs. Tulane ESPN Odds Preview

Football handicapping is off to a great start—that is for the wise handicappers—certainly not for the sportsbook.

Here is the official Tulsa vs. Tulane betting preview to go with the previously presented NFL tipsheet for tonight. Tulsa is laying 14 points on the road at Tulane.

Handicapping notes: This game is televised on ESPN. Tulsa coach Todd Graham said he will not publicly name his starting QB because he doesn’t want Tulane to know until kickoff. However the team knows who it will be. Cy McCormick of the MasterLockLine on OffshoreInsiders.com reports that G.J. Kinne has taken the most reps. He is part of a three-man race to replace senior David Johnson. Of the three, Jacob Bower with 11 completions last season is the most experienced.

Tulane has a new defensive coordinator Steve Stanard who must prepare for three QBs who bring different looks. They also has sundry players miss practice time because of the flu bug, but should be at full strength as far as that setback is concerned.

Tulsa is replacing their top passer, rusher, and receiver from last season. Among those gone is their all-time leading rusher Tarrion Adams.

Against the spread records: The Golden Hurricane is 7-3 as a double digit favorite. The Green Wave are 4-10 as home underdogs and 3-8 as double digit home underdogs. They are 7-23 in conference contests.

Top expert pick on this game: The top money won handicapper in the 21st century is a handicapper out of Philadelphia who rates his plays 5, 7.5 and 10 stars. He is especially rewarding in professional sports, where his NFL and NBA combined units won is No. 1 all-time. He is a stunning, staggering and overwhelming 12-1 with 10* in the preseason. Friday Night NFL Primer For Football Betting Odds Picks

Football picks have been even more devastating to the sportsbook than usual. Let the square support them here are news and notes for the final night of beating the preseason NFL odds.

Texans vs. Buccaneers

Handicapping notes: The Buccaneers just replaced first year offensive coordinator Jeff Jagodzinski. The Buccaneers starters will not play.  One possible exception is S Jermaine Phillips.

Their top two QBs of Byron Leftwich and Luke McCown will sit. Rookie QB Josh Freeman will start and be followed by second-year pro Josh Johnson. Tampa has allowed foes to convert just 12-of-43 on third down this preseason.

Houston is likely without rookie OLB Brian Cushing, their first round pick.

Top expert pick on this game: The beat goes on for the top football service ever. GodsTips goes 10-5 yesterday including four MLB underdog winners. GodsTips sweeps college football to go to 24-11 in football. Nothing changes. GodsTips remains the Center of the Handicapping Universe. Baseball has seen winning days 24 of 35.

Cowboys vs. Vikings

Handicapping notes: Vikings starting QB Brett Favre will not play, but now three players are battling for two roster spots behind him: Tarvaris Jackson, Sage Rosenfels, and John David Booty.

Dallas starters will play sparingly if at all.  That means they will lack depth as six of their 12 rookies have gotten injured this preseason.

Top expert pick on this game: Added: four pro baseball including three Level 5. Superstar Stevie Vincent is on a 24-4 tear including a 4-0 sweep last night: the Jets as the NFLX GAME of the QUARTER CENTURY, Broncos, Jaguars, and Boise State.

49ers vs. Chargers

Handicapping notes: San Francisco will play their starters 10-12 plays though RB Frank Gore and WR Isaac Bruce will be healthy scratches. Only a handful of roster spots are open according to Niner coach Mike Singletary as 20 players will be cut tomorrow.

Backup QB Alex Smith will not play, so Nate Davis, the fifth round pick from Ball State will play the rest of the game after Shaun Hill leaves.

LaDainian Tomlinson will not play for the Bolts. His backup Darren Sproles is doubtful.

Boise State Punch Not as On Target as Pro Bettors Knocking Out Sportsbooks

The ESPN football Boise State punch by cowardly LeGarrette Blount on Byron Hout is overshadowing the domination of professional gamblers. The Eugene Register-Guard sever is overwhelmed as are the sportsbooks.

Today in the Daily Sports Roundup: The NFL plays its last exhibition games, the PGA Tour continues its playoffs, and the Yankees play another game in Toronto.

The National Football League closes out its preseason schedule on Friday night with three last matchups:
Houston at Tampa Bay (-3, Total 34), San Francisco at San Diego (-3.5, Total 37), and Dallas at Minnesota (-3, Total 36). The Vikings improved to 3-0 in exhibition play last time out by beating the Texans 17-10. Brett Favre saw extended action in that contest, going 13-of-18 for 142 yards passing and a touchdown. The oddsmakers like the Als on the road in this contest, pegging them as 5.5-point favorites. The total is listed at 54 points.
