Today in the Daily Sports Roundup: The Chargers play their rivals in Denver, the Colts look for a win in Baltimore, and the Sprint Cup Series wraps up its season.

Colliding on the gridiron . . .

The Colts (9-0 SU, 5-4 ATS) will try to get to 10-0 on the season on Sunday when they face the Ravens (5-4 SU, 6-3 ATS) in early-afternoon action. Indianapolis came back to defeat the rival Patriots 35-34 last Sunday night, with Peyton Manning connecting with Reggie Wayne on a late touchdown strike to seal the win. The Ravens had no trouble with the Browns last week, blanking them 16-0. Indy is a 1.5-point road favorite Sunday, with the total at 44.5 points.

Other early NFL matchups on Sunday: Pittsburgh (-10) at Kansas City, San Francisco at Green Bay (-6.5), Buffalo at Jacksonville (-8.5), Atlanta at the Giants (-7), Cleveland at Detroit (-3.5), Washington at Dallas (-11), Seattle at Minnesota (-10.5), and New Orleans (-11) at Tampa Bay. The Saints are tied with the Colts at 9-0 on the season (6-3 ATS), but they got a scare in a 28-23 win over the Rams last week. Reggie Bush rushed for 83 yards and a touchdown in that win.

This week’s Sunday nighter is Philadelphia (-3) at Chicago, and before that the schedule offers up Arizona (-9) at St. Louis, the Jets at New England (-10.5), Cincinnati (-9.5) at Oakland, and San Diego at Denver (no line). The Chargers (6-3 SU, 4-5 ATS) and Broncos (6-3 SU, 6-3 ATS) are tied for top spot in the AFC West division, but San Diego has won four straight while Denver has lost three straight. Broncos QB Kyle Orton (ankle) is QUESTIONABLE for the game.

There are also two Canadian Football League games on tap for Sunday, as the league determines its Grey Cup participants. It’ll be British Columbia at Montreal in the East Final at 1pm ET, with the Alouettes pegged as big 10.5-point home favorites (and the total at 52.5 points). Saskatchewan then hosts Calgary in the West Final at 4:30pm, with the Riders favored by 2.5 (and the total at 54 points).

Saturday, GodsTips did what we’ve been doing for years. We go 9-3 with football picks and actually it was the losers that could have gone either way.

Last week GodsTips goes 7-4 last week including a pair of moneyline winners. Today you go 8-0 in the NFL including two moneyline underdogs. Our only hint is two of the biggest underdogs on the board win. Get five sides and a total as well. Click now to purchase

Tipping off on the hardwood . . .

The NBA offers up a half-dozen games on Sunday, with Orlando at Toronto, Boston at New York, Indiana at Charlotte, New Orleans at Miami, Detroit at Phoenix, and Oklahoma City at the Lakers. The Thunder moved to 7-6 on the season with a 127-108 win over the Wizards on Friday night; Kevin Durant poured in 35 points in that contest. The Lakers are 9-3 this year, getting past the Bulls 108-93 on Thursday. Pau Gasol had 24 points and 13 boards in that victory.

As well, several ranked teams are in action in college hoops on Sunday, including both No. 7 Purdue and No. 10 Tennessee in the Paradise Jam event in the Virgin Islands. The Boilermakers face St. Joseph’s on Sunday, and they dispatched South Dakota State 74-63 on Friday thanks to 22 points from E’Twaun Moore. The Volunteers’ Sunday opponent is DePaul; Tennessee beat East Carolina 105-66 in their Friday game, with Scotty Hopson scoring 25 points.

Taking a trip around the rink . . .

There are just two games on the National Hockey League’s schedule for Sunday, with Tampa Bay at Atlanta and Chicago at Vancouver. The Canucks sit at 12-10-0 on the season (and 8-2-0 at home) after getting past Colorado by a score of 5-2 on Friday night. Christian Ehrhoff (with two), Henrik Sedin, Steve Bernier, and Mikael Samuelsson all scored in that win for the Canucks, who put up four goals in the third period. Roberto Luongo stopped 22 of 24 Colorado shots in the game.

Roaring around the track . . .

Finally, Jimmie Johnson will be looking to wrap up the Sprint Cup title on Sunday afternoon when the series takes the track at Homestead-Miami Speedway for the season-ending Ford 400. Mark Martin, the only driver that can catch Johnson for the Cup title, is listed as the 13/2 Vegas favorite for the race, with both Johnson and Jeff Gordon pegged as 7/1 odds. Greg Biffle is next on that list at 17/2, with Carl Edwards and Kurt Busch sitting at 10/1 odds to visit victory lane at the event.

Betting Notes For Saturday

Mayweather vs. Pacquiao odds are already being bet at record rates, but we focus on the here and now and college football betting notes.

Coaches are on the hot seat and teams are fighting for bowls. But some of the obvious motivation factors for football bettors are not always the biggest intangibles. Here are some news and notes to beat the college football odds for games of Nov. 21.

San Diego State vs. Utah

The Utes will be without their leading tackler Derrick Shelby for the rest of the season. He suffered a torn ACL in their loss to TCU last week.

Minnesota vs. Iowa

It’s a large revenge game for the Gophers. Last year Iowa handed Minnesota their biggest conference loss ever and second biggest overall when the Hawkeyes humiliated the Gophers 55-0 in the Metrodome.

Purdue vs. Indiana

The Hoosiers will also have plenty of motivation after losing 62-10 when the teams met last year. Purdue scored on their first ten possessions.

Colorado State vs. New Mexico

Something has to give. Colorado State, off a bye week, has lost seven in row. New Mexico is 0-10. Incredibly CSU started out 3-0 straight up.

UAB vs. East Carolina

After a 2-5 straight up start, Alabama-Birmingham has won their last three games by a combined 125-83. If they win their remaining two games, they will play in the C-USA Championship Game.

Connecticut vs. Notre Dame

If any team is clearly better than their record, it is the Huskies. Their five losses this year are by a combined 15 points.

Rutgers vs. Syracuse

Syracuse has scored just 19 points in two games since star WR Mike Williams quit the team. He was considered perhaps the team’s best player at any position.

TCU vs. Wyoming

Wyoming‘s starting QB is a freshman Austyn Carta-Samuels. He has already gone up against the other three top teams in the conference: BYU, Utah, and Air Force. The problem is Wyoming was outscored 84-10 in those games. TCU has beaten all three teams.

Kansas vs. Texas

Texas head coach Mack Brown admitted he wants to see more balance on offense—that is more running the ball. Cody Johnson is now the starter and redshirt freshman TreNewton the backup. Look for a higher percentage of running plays from the Longhorns.

Kentucky vs. Georgia

WR Randall Cobb, the Wildcats top offensive player is questionable. He sat out the last game and has practiced on a limited basis with a sprained thumb. He has 11 touchdowns including as the Wildcat QB.

SMU vs. Marshall

The Thundering Herd’s leading rusher Darius Marshall is a game time decision. He is especially needed with TE Cody Slate lost for the season. With a win SMU can client first place in the C-USA West Division. Marshall needs to win their last two games for a bowl birth.

Top expert spread picks: Make room for a large infusion in cash. Hide the women and children. Lay the points with Stanford -7 at BetUs Sportsbook against California.

It’s tough to lay a full touchdown to what is still a very talented California team. Plus I can’t come close to calling this game a value because about six or so weeks ago this thing may have seen the Golden Bears as the favorite but right now there is no hotter team than the Cardinal and in the end I will roll with them today.

Cal will once again be without their superstar in Jahvid Best and overall this season has been fairly disappointing. Jeff Tedford had a team that was expected to compete for everything, including possibly a national title, but things have not been as expected and right now to be honest with you the Bears are not much better than an average team in the Pac-10.

Last week Arizona outplayed Cal and should have won on the road but a terrible decision by their quarterback destroyed them late leading to the eight point loss. I watched the game and trust me Cal did not come close to deserving to win and cover that thing by almost double digits. This team was obliterated against both Oregon and USC and also had it handed to them a few weeks ago at home against Oregon State.

Certainly a 7-3 record is solid but it’s been a weak 7-3 for today’s visitors.

Meanwhile Jim Harbaugh’s team is rolling as much as a team could be rolling right now. They just embarassed both Oregon and USC the last two weeks combining for over 100 points in those games. The way Toby Gerhart has been running the ball has been beyond amazing and it’s not like you can just load the box with a young future star in Andrew Luck at the quarterback position.

Stanford has won three in a row and is 7-3 overall and 6-2 in the Pac-10. If not for imploding and blowing big leads at both Wake Forest and Arizona this team very very realistically would have only one loss all season long and be in the top seven or so in the entire nation.

I am a believer in what Harbaugh has done with this program and to get both Gerhart and Luck at home here makes me feel fairly comfortable in laying this number, even to a still semi dangerous Cal team.
