NCAA Football Betting – Tigers Aim To Slow Crimson Tide In "Iron Bowl"

Even though NFL betting will be all the rage beginning on Thursday, those still nursing a turkey hangover can work it off with some Iron Bowl betting as Auburn prepares to host No.2 Alabama in the 74th edition of this bitter rivalry. The Crimson Tide are large NCAA football betting favorites in this contest, and they should be able to cover by following the plan which got them here,

Alabama vs Auburn betting – Friday, November 27, 2:30 PM ET

The Crimson Tide (11-0, 7-0) had no problems with the NCAA football spread in a 45-0 mauling of Chattanooga at home, as most of their first-string players were sitting by halftime. Mark Ingram’s 102 yards led an atatck that ran for 313 yards, and the Heisman candidate also had a pair of touchdowns. The Crimson Tide defense, which is second in the nation, showed no mercy against Chattanooga, allowing 84 yards and forcing three turnovers. This was the sixth time this year that Alabama had held an opponent to seven points or less.

Two weeks ago, the Tigers (7-4, 3-4) fell 31-24 at Georgia behind two picks from Chris Todd, who was 20-of-28 for 238 yards and a pair of touchdowns as well. Ben Tate managed only 67 yards on the ground, and he has just one 100-yard game in his last four games after three in a row. The Tigers also gave up 169 yards on the ground, which isn’t a surprise as Auburn is 88th in the country in run defense.

NCAA football betting odds in your sportsbook are favoring Alabama by 12 points on the road, and last year, they broke a six-game losing skid to their rivals with a 36-0 beatdown in Tuscaloosa. It may not be that bad this year, but the Crimson Tide’s ground game will allow Alabama to control the clock, and the Tigers should have been working on rushing defense during their entire bye week. The week off won’t make a difference as Alabama had a cupcake game. Look for the Crimson Tide to roll right into their SEC title showdown with Florida.

Sarah Paln, Carrie Prejean, or Perez Hilton

The NFL point spread for ESPN Monday Night Football Houston Texans and Tennessee Titans is taking center stage. But there are plenty of entertainment odds up as well.

BetUs Sportsbook has proposition bets matching four p’s in a pod: Carrie Prejean, Spencer Pratts, Sarah Palin, and Perez Hilton.

This is no over/under on how many times the CNN.com ticker will do a story on Sarah Palin, though JoeDuffy.net sets the over/under on 5.2 per day for the month of November.

However Sarah Palin’s book is -300 to outsell the other three. Smut merchant and smear monger Perez Hilton and nude picture babe Carrie Prejean are next at +200. Palin is the most likely to next run for political office, but Prejean  is -200 to be most likely to star in a reality show.

Sports Handicappers Preview of Titans vs. Texans MNF Spread

Here is the official betting preview of the Tennessee Titans and Houston Texans ESPN Monday Night Football. Bodog has Houston laying four points with a total of 48.

The Titans are 3-6 straight up and 4-6 to the number but they’ve won and covered three straight. Houston is 5-4 straight up and 5-3-1 against the spread, but just 1-2 at home versus the sportsbook number.

Houston has gone under the total in 5-of-6. Tennessee has gone over 6-of-8.

The Titans average a remarkable 5.3 yards per rush against teams normally allowing 4.2 but only 5.8 yards per pass to 6.3. However, the winning streak occurred after Vince Young took over for the inept Kerry Collins.

Defensively the Titans are allowing 4.4 yards per rush teams versus teams normally getting 4.2 and 6.0 yards per play to 5.8.

Houston is inept running the ball getting a pedestrian 3.3 yards per rush against teams normally allowing 4.2. However the Texans pass for 7.8 passing yards per attempt against teams normally allowing 6.5 and 5.9 yards per play to 5.5.

They allow 4.6 yards per rush to 4.4, 6.6 yards per pass to 6.4 and 5.8 yards per play to 5.5.

Against the spread records: Tennessee is 9-1 as underdogs of 3.5-10 points but they’ve dropped five straight against teams with a winning record. The Texans are 6-0 off ATS loss. The underdog has covered 9-of-12 in the series.

Over/under angles: Houston has gone over 12-3 off straight up loss and over 8-1 after getting less than 90 yards rushing last game.

Top expert pick on this game: The Center of the Handicapping Universe GodsTips is 16-8 the last 24 NFL spread side selections. Our only Wise Guy of the NFL week goes tonight on Tennessee and Houston. Just added are two NBA and two college basketball Click now to purchase

Colliding on the gridiron . . .

It’s Tennessee (3-6 SU, 4-5 ATS) vs. Houston (5-4 SU, 5-3-1 ATS) in this week’s Monday Night Football matchup, with the Titans gunning for their fourth consecutive victory. Tennessee trounced the Bills 41-17 at home last week, with Vince Young going 17-of-25 for 210 yards passing with one TD and one INT. Chris Johnson rushed for 132 yards and a pair of scores for the Titans in the win.

The Texans are coming off a 20-17 loss to the Colts two weeks ago, as Matt Schaub went 32-of-43 for 311 yards passing with one TD strike and a pair of interceptions. Steve Slaton ran for just 17 yards on six carries in that contest, but he did manage to score a touchdown. Oddsmakers have the Texans set as 4-point home favorites for Monday night, with the total for the contest at 48 points.

Tipping off on the hardwood . . .

There are just four games around the NBA on Monday night, with Sacramento at Memphis, Milwaukee at San Antonio, Minnesota at the Clippers, and Chicago at Portland. The 6-6 Bulls fell back to the .500 mark with a 112-93 loss in Denver on Saturday night. Derrick Rose had a team-high 28 points for Chicago in that contest. The Trail Blazers are now 10-5 on the season after getting past Minnesota 106-78 on Saturday. Martell Webster scored 21 points in that matchup.

As well, college hoops’ Maui Invitational gets underway on Monday, with Cincinnati vs. Vanderbilt, Maryland vs. Chaminade, Arizona vs. Wisconsin, and Colorado vs. Gonzaga. There are also two games on tap in the CBE Classic at Kansas City’s Sprint Center, with Wichita State vs. Pittsburgh and Iowa vs. Texas. The 2-0 Longhorns had no trouble getting past Western Carolina in their last contest, as Damion Jones tossed in 18 points in the team’s easy 73-41 win.

Taking a trip around the rink . . .

Finally, the NHL has a slate of 10 games for Monday night, including Philadelphia at Colorado. The 12-7-1 Flyers were beaten 3-1 in Phoenix in their last game on Saturday night, with Scott Hartnell providing the teams lone goal. Ray Emery made 18 saves in that contest. The 13-7-3 Avalanche fell 5-2 in Vancouver on Friday night, despite being staked to a 2-0 lead by David Jones and Matt Duchene. Craig Anderson allowed all five Vancouver goals on 27 shots that day.

Also on the ice on Monday: Columbus at the Rangers, the Islanders at Toronto, Pittsburgh at Florida, Washington at Ottawa, Boston at St. Louis, Carolina at Dallas, Phoenix at Edmonton, Calgary at Anaheim, and Detroit at Nashville. The Red Wings moved to 11-6-4 on the season with a 3-2 shootout win over the Canadiens on Saturday, but they lost defenseman Niklas Kronwall for at least four weeks with a knee injury. The 12-8-1 Preds have won five contests in a row.

Monday Sports Picks

Many of the top sports handicappers are unleashing on the Monday Night Football ESPN odds between the Titans and Texans. But there are live odds for the NBA to exploit as well. Matt Rivers says go Bucks plus the nine points at Bodog

San Antonio is a great team that will be right there when the playoffs roll around but right now things have not been so hunky dory and to get a blossoming superstar in Brandon Jennings and his 8-3 Bucks plus this number is certainly worth a small play.

Milwaukee was expected to be fairly dreadful this season and then right off the bat lost their star in Michael Redd. But things are not always what they seem and that is 100% the case here as Milwaukee seems to be a lot better than what the experts believed.

Jennings has been insanely great scoring a whopping 25 points per contest and Scott Skiles has done as remarkable of a job as any team can do 11 games into a season. Ersan Ilyasova is even averaging 10 points and 7 boards a game. Then throw in Luke Ridnour trying to revive his career at also 10 per and you have a team that is feeling pretty good about itself right now at five games over .500.

The Spurs are clearly the well superior team on the court today but Ginobili and Parker have been hurt of late and things are not clicking at all for the Spurs. Tim Duncan is still great and did just lead San Antonio to that easy last win over Washington snapping a three game skid but that lone victory did not turn things around. In fact two of those losses were at home against the young Thunder and the struggling Jazz.

At some point the Spurs will fully regroup and get their you know what together but until they show any consistency Brandon Jennings plus a solid number is certainly the way to go.

Could this game be a second straight 106-84 outclassing of an inferior opponent? It could for sure as the Spurs will still win 50-55 plus but I don’t trust Pop’s team too much right now and will take my chances on this red hot live dog.
