While Live streaming TV of Brazil vs. Argentina has many glued to the computer, as does gossip about Tony Parker cheating leading to the Eva Longoria divorce
Matt Rivers says your Wednesday comp play is on Columbia +19 against St. John’s.
Of course St. John’s of the Big East is a billion times better than the Ivy League’s Columbia Lions but there are a pair of factors making me feel confident that the well inferior team will be able to do enough to cover this large double digit number.
Steve Lavin’s team is too talented to actually lose this game as they are led by a stud in DJ Kennedy and some other experienced guys like Dwight Hardy, Paris Horne, Justin Brownlee, Sean Evans, Justin Burrell and Malik Boothe. But the Red Storm just played all the way across the country against St. Mary’s less than 48 hours ago and now after flying back home have to get right back on the court and face a team that provides little motivation whatsoever. The Johnie’s are going to be excited to face the Villanova’s and Syracuse’s and Georgetown’s of the world but not Columbia and in the college world motivation can be more important than sheer talent. Who the heck scheduled this that’s what I want to know.
Today’s visitor is playing up a ton of classes here but the travel is obviously very little and Noruwa Agho, who can shoot the lights out, and the Lions should be the fresher team on the floor. They also played on Monday but that was much closer to home in the easy 108-74 triumph over Maryland Eastern-Shore. Last Friday these guys fell at LaSalle by 11 and the Explorers should be alright this season as evidenced by the cover on Tuesday in Waco against an explosive and really good Baylor Bears squad.
In the end the Johnnie’s are too talented and skilled and strong and big and deep and everything. But the fatigue factor and the motivational factor is on our side making me believe this thing ends in a Columbia cover.
For more information: If you want the football tonight? Go elsewhere. I’m not a fan of either MAC game nor do I like anything on the college hardwoods. Just one game for me today and it’s a big-time 400,000* from New Orleans between the Mavericks and Hornets. Will Chris Paul and the fellas get some revenge from the other night and grab the cash as well? Or is Dallas just the flat out better team? One play, one winner, don’t miss it! Click now to purchase
