Free Pick From Matt Rivers

OffshoreInsiders.com Senior Sports Handicapper Matt Rivers has a free pick Friday is on the Anaheim Angels (+114) to the New York Mets.

Reasoning: Anaheim is certainly not what they used to be and the Mets have looked a lot better of late but let’s not exactly crown Terry Collins’ squad just yet. New York is still a franchise in regression and without David Wright and Ike Davis is not the most talented of teams. I am not at all saying that Jose Reyes and Jason Bay and Angel Pagan and Carlos Beltran don’t have enough to be a dangerous team that can’t win this game but the Mets are still a sub .500 squad overall that is not going very far this season.

The Angels are that squad which is a good team to back when getting a solid amount and are a good team to fade when they are laying too much. Anaheim is very mediocre themselves, but they also have a few players that are no joke in Kendrick, Abreu, Hunter and Trumbo. Are they great no but like the Mets these four guys can be very good at times.

Chris Capuano is a solid lefty that like his team as a whole could be pretty good. But he isn’t really anything to write home about even if things have been better of late and he isn’t on a higher level than the decent enough Joel Pineiro so the pitching matchup is a wash.

The bottom line here is that either pitcher can pitch well and that either team can win this game. With that thinking I’ll grab a decent enough takeback on the visitors from the left coast and take my chances.

Top expert pick on this game: Anaheim

For more information: Matt Rivers says, I’ve won 62 of the last 103 days for a ridiculously high quality 6.3 million* of profit. I’m going to turn the trick yet again as I have a trio of winners up and available. 400,000* Phillies-Mariners, 300,000* Brewers-Red Sox and a 200,000* between the Rangers and Braves. Up, up and away baby. Click now to purchase

Pro Baseball Winning Bets

OffshoreInsiders.com Senior Sports Handicapper Matt Rivers has a free pick Thursday is on the St. Louis Cardinals (-105) to Washington.

What a dreadful last few games for Tony LaRussa’s Redbirds. St. Louis somehow blew the huge late lead on Tuesday in the eighth inning and then pretty much never showed up yesterday in the blowout. I have no issues with the Nationals as they are not a bad team at all. With Ryan Zimmerman back combining to help Jayson Werth and a few others this Washington team is fairly pesky and at home can beat anybody. That does apply to today but it’s never easy sweeping a team and especially a superior team which the Cardinals still are as long as Albert is around.

Kyle Lohse has been amazing so far this season, save the last two starts where he was just mediocre. I don’t love Lohse but 7-3 and an era in the mid 2’s speaks for itself and certainly at the very very worst is equal to a good but nothing more John Lannan.

Pujols, Berkman and the Cards are probably not a great team anymore and especially with Holliday out injured but they are also not a club that should get swept in the nation’s capital and at around a pick I’ll expect these visitors to be able to at least take this one game and get out of dodge.

Top expert pick on this game: St. Louis

For more information: Does it get any easier than the Beantown shutout sweep yesterday? I would say probably not. It’s now 62 winning days in the last 102 for a ridiculously high quality 6.6 million* of profit.

Two more winners today and a lot more profit to go around. Please note that the big play goes early in the day so get down on it early. I’m about to make it six of seven 400,000* winners today in this game from the Bronx and go over the 7 million star mark. Monster 400,000* Rangers-Yankees along with a 200,000* Red Sox-Rays. Here I go baby! Click now to purchase

Marlins Will Upset Phillies Betting Expert Asserts

OffshoreInsiders.com Senior Sports Handicapper Matt Rivers free pick winner for Tuesday is on the Marlins (+180) to Philadelphia.

Reasoning: Cole Hamels has been superb striking out batter after batter and following Roy Halladay’s lead in dominating but for some reason the Marlins seem to always play pesky ball against the Phillies and Chris Volstad is a feast or famine guy who just may show up today. Yes it is asking a lot for the ridiculously slumping Marlins to keep pace with one of, if not the best team in the game today in the Phillies. Uncle Charlie’s squad will win about 97 games this season and make a deep run in the playoffs possibly winning the World Series.

Meanwhile on the opposite extreme the season has turned into a diaster for the Marlins after jumping out of the gate in fine form. Hanley Ramirez has done next to nothing and has been injured but there is a chance the three-time All-Star could be back and playing today. Whether he is or not isn’t the end all as either way Philadelphia is the clear-cut stronger squad. But the fish are a pain in the Phillies side a lot of the time and with Mike Stanton blowing up along with a few other guys that are capable in Gaby Sanchez, Luke Morrison, Chris Coghlan and Omar Infante.

A lot will depend on which Volstad we see. If he doesn’t wet the bed then we truly have a legitimate shot. If he does implode then oh well. Volstad has the potential to allow six runs in the first inning, I admit that, but Florida is a lot better than what they have been showing and to get in the range of $2 against a guy in Hamels who I really believe is overdue to get hit a little makes me alright with taking a stab on the still talented visitors from the south.

Top expert pick on this game: Florida

For more information: It was as easy as could ever be as Boston was up 4-0 before some fans even sat in their seats. It’s just another winning day, now literally 61 in the last 100 days. Think about that, 61 winning days vs. only 39 losing days. Not many handicappers on this planet will ever have that type of success, ever. Oh and the profit margin is now a phenomenal 6.2 million*.

Two more winners today including a fifth straight 400,000* in this AL East clash from Tropicana Field between the Red Sox and Rays. Bonus 200,000* White Sox and Twins. 2-0? Um, yes! Click now to purchase

Astros-Braves Free MLB Picks

OffshoreInsiders.com Senior Sports Handicapper Matt Rivers free pick winner for Monday is on the Astros (+120) to Atlanta.

Reasoning: I have been on the Braves a bunch recently and definitely do feel that Atlanta is much better than Houston but it’s really tough to sweep a team in a four game series and that is the situation here. Freddi Gonzalez’ squad is ridiculously beat up right now but yet continues to chug along. Heyward, Prado and McClouth are all missing in the outfield and at some point it is going to catch up with them. That point hasn’t happened yet but Wandy Rodriguez is a quality lefthander who completely shut down the Braves at Turner Field about a month ago and I can see a semi repeat performance today on his comfortable home mound. Granted the Astros bullpen blew it as Brian McCann hit a pinch hit game tying home run in the ninth and then won it with a long ball in extras but don’t blame Rodriguez in that game.

Derek Lowe is coming off of a great start down in Florida where he had a no-hitter into the seventh inning. When the sinker is on the guy can be extremely tough to hit but it’s not like Lowe has been consistently great as evidenced by allowing 11 earned in his previous 15 or so innings before that last start. It’s a 50-50 proposition whether the Atlanta righthander is on his game or not and I’m willing to fade him here with this home dog.

The Astros are a bad team with a bad record, I get that. They are going nowhere as the franchise has been regressing mightily since the Biggio and Bagwell days but they are still a professional team with decent enough guys like Pence, Bourne and Wallace. The losing streak is at four after falling in the first three here at home to the Bravos but Atlanta is a team that is ridiculously beaten up and due to lay an egg with the bats and Rodriguez is capable of helping carry that out.

Top expert pick on this game: Houston +120

For more information: It really doesn’t get much easier than the 400,000* Mavericks last night as they took care of business going away in yet another winning day. The run is now 60 of 99 winning days, as in 60 winning days compared to only 39 losing ones and a cool 6 million* of profit.

I’m raising that bar to the highest of high proportions as I once again release an ultra-rare highest rated 500,000* bomb on the ice between the Canucks and Bruins. The last time I gave out such a play was in game three of this same series and watched the Bruins win in shutout fashion, 4-0. I’m back at it here either eating some rare chalk on the Bruins one more time or believing that what has been the best team in the NHL up to this point is going to wrap this thing up in six games, ala the Mavericks. Bonus 300,000* Brewers-Cubs as I round out another amazing winning day. Click now to purchase

OffshoreInsiders.com Senior Sports Handicapper Matt Rivers has a Sunday is on the Seattle Mariners (-100) to Detroit.

Reasoning: I don’t love Seattle as they are not the most talented of teams but the Mariners have been playing well with that surprising over .500 record and I love Felix Hernandez. Yes King Felix has not been great of late at all and just allowed a whopping five earned runs in only six plus innings but the guy is great and should get back to being great once again today.

Rick Porcello is a solid young hurler who has an upside himself but the guy is no Felix Hernandez and I’m not very high on Jim Leyland’s Tigers. I will give Detroit some credit for getting right back in the AL Central race and catching Cleveland thanks to playing some solid ball but the Tigers are not a team that I trust at all and besides Migual Cabrera are fairly weak. Yes Boesch and Perralta and Martinez have an upside and are pretty good at times but they are really nothing more than that.

If you look at the recent numbers the Tiger right-hander has actually outpitched the reigning Cy Young award winner but that truly doesn’t concern me. Hernandez is a superstar and a guy who should be able to rebound nicely in this spot at pitcher friendly Comerica Park.

Ichiro has struggled and the Mariners offense is not much of anything but Seattle has been playing a whole lot better than expected and Justin Smoak is actually a kid that has been pretty solid with those 11 long balls. There probably won’t be many crooked numbers in this thing and even though this is a road game without a takeback, I’ll hitch my wagon to the King and expect a solid rebounding effort leading to a Seattle victory.

Top expert pick on this game: Seattle

For more information: The run is now 59 of 98 winning days, as in 59 winning days compared to only 39 losing ones and 5.8 million* of profit another 400,000* winner yesterday on the Braves. I have been smacking around that Crookie all year long as per usual and today will be just another example of that. Two more plays and two more winners led by a fourth consecutive 400,000* on the hardwoods in this game six between the Mavericks and Heat. Bonus 200,000* from Miller Park involving the Cardinals and Brewers. Click now to purchase

Red Sox-Blue Jays MLB Expert Prediction

OffshoreInsiders.com Senior Sports Handicapper Matt Rivers Saturday is on the Boston Red Sox (+105) to Toronto.

Reasoning: I backed Toronto in a comp loser as the big dog yesterday and am reversing course here because the price is just too good not to.

Brandon Morrow certainly has the potential to be a very very good pitcher as he is a dominating strikeout machine at times. Shoot the way this season has gone for John Lackey the Blue Jays may even have the advantage on the hill. But with that said I’m not writing Mr. Lackey off just yet and in that first start back off the DL the former Angel actually looked better. Is he back and will this form last for good? I’m not sure about that but he’s much better than the 3-5 record and 7.60 ERA would suggest that I can tell you.

As for the two teams, clearly the visitors from Beantown are the more powerful overall squad with a lineup as nasty as any. The Jays can hit as well led by a budding star in Jose Bautista among others but the Sox are obviously far superior. Big Papi is on-fire, Adrian Gonzalez may be the early season MVP and Carl Crawford, Jacoby Ellsbury, Dustin Pedroia and Kevin Youkilis are all very good and great at times.

Things won’t come easy today for Boston but in my opinion they are of solid value at this number as they just win this game more than they don’t and that constitutes a value at this price.

If Lackey regresses today and gets slapped around then so be it. We were able to get a great team at a great value but just happened to lose. But if the guy is healthier and improving then we should be laying a decent chunk of change but yet aren’t and I’m more than fine with that scenario!

Top expert pick on this game: Boston from Matt Rivers

For more information: The run is now 58 of 97 winning days, as in 58 winning days compared to only 39 losing ones and 5.7 million* of profit after the 400,000* on the plus money Nationals took care of business. It should have been another sweep of the board had we gotten any sort of a break with the big dog Bruins who were nipped 1-0 but in the end another winning day.

Now to another 400,000* involving the superior but beat up Braves in Houston plus a 300,000* with the Indians and Yankees. Am I feeling good? You bet your arse I am. Click now to purchase

Top Baseball Bet Picks

OffshoreInsiders.com Senior Sports Handicapper Matt Rivers has a free pick Friday is on the Toronto Blue Jays (+126) to Boston.

Reasoning: It’s a little crazy to back a kid who just failed to win in something like 28 straight games against Clay Buchholz and the great Red Sox but at this home dog price that’s exactly what I’m going to do.

Do I fully trust the former Brave lefthander? No certainly I don’t but after just playing that huge series in the Bronx against the rival Yankees and with Dustin Pedroia suddenly injured and going up north of the border against the very capable Blue Jays led by a budding superstar in Jose Bautista and an offense that can be very good I will take my chances fading Boston and backing Toronto. It’s not a bad spot at all to believe we could see an upset.

I have made it abundantly clear of late how much I believe in today’s visitors. To put it bluntly Terry Francona’s team is great and has a legitimate chance to win the World Series this season. They can bash away as good as any offense and the pitching is nothing to sneeze at even with guys like Dice-K and Lackey doing next to nothing.

The Jays are not a team with nearly the upside of the boys from Beantown but Bautista has been superb proving how last season was not a fluke and others like Lind, Hill and Arencibia are definitely dangerous. I have seen these AL East type games with Toronto a ton and the Jays are able to overachieve and hold their own in spots such as this one. Toronto manager John Farrell is the former Boston pitching coach and should be able to have a quality scouting report on his former club making me believe that this home dog can win for a third straight against the big bad Sox.

For more information: Yup I rocked the Crookie’s world yesterday and did so with ease. The highest rated play that I have ever released, a 500,000* came through with flying colors on the Bruins in shutout fashion 4-0 and the 200,000* on the Red Sox plus money cashed that ticket going away as well. The run is now 57 of 95 winning days and 5.4 million* of profit.

Two more winners today including at least another 500,000* of profit as I get right around the 6 million* mark. 300,000* Heat-Mavericks and a 200,000* Red Sox-Yankees. Here we go again baby, up, up and away. Click now to purchase
