I am not deeming the Clippers good just yet but with Blake Griffin in the fold this team isn’t the Clippers from years’ past. Certainly the organization as a whole is complete mush and making the playoffs would still be a surprise but I do believe Los Angeles’ inferior basketball team is going to be much improved in the near future and at a big number like this is a semi must play. Obviously the 1-7 start to the season after another bad loss last night hasn’t been great and LA is on a tough back-to-back after the game against the undefeated New Orleans Hornets last night but just look at the Clippers’ roster and it’s not that bad.

Besides a beast in the middle in Griffin there’s an aging but still very capable Baron Davis along with solid pieces like Chris Kaman and Eric Gordon. Davis and Gordon have been banged up of late and without them could present a problem or two here against Timmay and the Spurs but at this number I’ll take my chances with the Clippers as guys like Eric Bledsoe and Al-Fariq Aminu are good enough if needed to play some bigger minutes.

There is no doubt that San Antonio at home is the far better and health.
