No. 2 Oklahoma will get a visit from No. 24 TCU in one of the top matchups on the college football schedule for Saturday. Here’s a look in today’s Daily Sports Roundup.
The Gridiron Spotlight
The No. 2 Sooners could start tasting that top spot in the rankings after No. 1 USC was shocked by Oregon State on Thursday night. To get there, though, they’ll have to take care of business against No. 24 TCU on Saturday night. Despite sitting in the Top 25 the Horned Frogs aren’t getting much love from oddsmakers or bettors in this matchup; they’re pegged as big 18.5-point underdogs (with the total set at 54.5).
Oklahoma could have competition for that No. 1 ranking, though, from No. 3 Georgia. The Bulldogs have a tough game on tap against No. 8 Alabama on Saturday night, but if they are impressive enough in a win they could inherit top spot in the polls from the Trojans. Georgia is listed as a 6.5-point favorite, with the total pegged at 44.5 points.
There is one other matchup of ranked teams on Saturday, and that’s No. 22 Illinois vs. No. 12 Penn State. The Nittany Lions are 15.5-point faves, with the total at 55.5 points.

The Post Debate Odds For US President
Who won the debate moderated by Jim Leher? The ideologues are spinning as we speak, but the political betting odds are the best indicator of who won the Presidential debate between John McCain and Barack Obama.
We learned about Citizens Against Government Waste, Google For Government, and debates over energy such as the Pickens Plan (PickensPlan.com), what General Petraeus, says about the war on terror, the Great Society, pork barrel spending, and what Henry Kissinger says about meeting sworn enemies of the US without preconditions.
Both Intrade and the official betting odds on that page give Obama the upper hand overall in the race for the White House. Talking heads are now spinning the Indus River and transitive verbs.
The Vice Presidential debate still has odds for the Vice Presidential debate. Brian Gould of ScoresOddsPicks.com says the undecided sometimes put more stock in intangibles than issues and that “Obama certainly came across as the most likeable”.
