Patriots Usual Super Bowl Favorites, But Not By Much

The New England Patriots are in their annual position as favorites to win the Super Bowl according to 5 Dimes sportsbook. The Patriots are just a notch higher than 7-1. Superstar Pat Mahomes and his Kansas City Chiefs are not far behind at 9-1 with Drew Brees and New Orleans at 10-1. The big story is the allegedly improved Cleveland Browns are tied for fifth at 13-1. Despite a massive upgrade at QB with Josh Rosen, the Miami Dolphins are the longest shot. Of course, winning picks start in the preseason with NFL specialist Joe Duffy of OffshoreInsiders.com

2019 College Football Bettors Show No Confidence in This Conference

Bettors are already fading the Pac-12.

A bit more than four months ago, SportsBetting posted odds for two dozen college teams’ regular season victory totals.

Since March 11, three of the Pac-12 teams have seen their over/unders plummet. Oregon went from 9.5 to 9, Washington State went from 8.5 to 8 and USC saw the most significant drop, going from 8.5 to 7.

Of those initial numbers, only one other team of the two dozen has seen movement. Clemson has been bet up from 11 to 11.5, which is the highest total of any FBS team.

The teams with the lowest over/unders (2.5) are: Rutgers, Oregon State, UConn, Rice, UTSA, UTEP, San Jose State and South Alabama.

Also according to the sportsbook, Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State, Oklahoma and Washigton/Oregon are the favorites to win their respective conferences.

Below, the teams are in the left column of the table, the conference odds are in the middle column and the regular season win totals are in the right column.

Oddsmakers: Durant, Butler Going Elsewhere, Leonard Staying Put

The future destinations of Kevin Durant, Kawhi Leonard and Jimmy Butler have been prognosticated by oddsmakers ahead of tonight’s free agency frenzy.

SportsBetting has updated its odds for each of these max-contract players, and there is one surprise as Brooklyn is now the odds-on favorite in the Durant sweepstakes.

The Nets had 8/1 odds to land Durant a month ago, and late last year they had 15/1 odds. Also last month, the Rockets were 9/1 to acquire Butler.

Alabama is Not the Favorite to Win the College Football National Championship

Familiar names at the top of the national championship favorites in college football 2019-2020. The most notable fact is that Alabama is second, a change from the usual prohibitive favorite. Defending national champion Clemson returns Heisman Trophy favorite QB Trevor Lawrence, who led the Tigers to the shocking rout over Alabama last year.

The virtual co-favorites see Clemson -165 and Alabama at -205. The Georgia Bulldogs, a team that has taken Alabama down to the wire each of the last two years is next at +610. Ohio State is +895 despite Ryan Day’s first season as head coach, though he did fill-in for Urban Meyer during the legend’s infamous suspension last year.  Odds are from Bet Now, a popular sportsbook in part because of their low-juice moneylines in baseball and other sports. They are also tremendous for added rotation games. All odds based on $100 per bet. Hence +1000 would be the same as 10-1.
