Ole Miss-Memphis ESPN College Football Picks

The ESPN odds for Mississippi vs. Memphis has the Rebels a 17.5 favorite at BetUs Sportsbook  with a total of 55. Here is the official betting preview.

Handicapping notes: Memphis has the size advantage when passing the ball. The Tigers have 6-4 and 6-9 receivers going against 5-9 and 5-11 CBs.

Memphis has their third defensive coordinator in three years. Ole Miss faces high expectations with their highest ranking in 40 years. The Rebels averaged 37.0 points per game in their final six games last year.

Memphis must replace four offensive linemen. That does not bode well as Ole Miss has one of the best defensive lines in the country. They had 111 tackles for a loss last year and the key cogs are all back.

Ole Miss is 46-10-2 straight up including 13-4 the last 17.

Ole Miss allowed just 20 sacks last year, but All-American tackle Bradley Sowell is gone to protect Heisman candidate Jevan Snead, the Rebels signal caller.

Against the spread records: The Rebels are 7-1 their last eight road games and 6-1 as double digit favorites. However as a favorite of any kind, they are 6-13 their last 19. Memphis is 7-2 as double digit home underdogs. The Tigers have dropped 5-of-6 outside the conference.

Minnesota vs. Syracuse

Handicapping notes: Minnesota welcomes back RB Duane Bennett who missed most of last year with a torn ACL. His return should improve a running game that was dead last in the Big 10 and 104th nationally. The Gophers are returning to their running roots after two years of a spread offense.

Syracuse starting QB Greg Paulus gets the start after starring at Duke in basketball. He has not taken a snap since high school.

Connecticut-Ohio, LSU-Washington, Western Michigan-Michigan, San Jose State-USC

It’s one of the many college football game previews in the free pick section. Here is everything bettors need to know to beat the college football point spreads.

Connecticut vs. Ohio

Handicapping notes: The Huskies will employ a no-huddle offense, which is a drastic change from previous years. Star running back Donald Brown is gone, but strong armed QB Zach Frazier and speedy skilled position players are waiting in the wings. Brown is one of four Huskies chosen in the first two runs of the NFL draft.

Andre Dixon went down the tubes last year following rushing for 828 yards last year. He was second team All-Big East and all reports are that he again has his priorities straight.

The aforesaid Frazier, a Notre Dame transfer, is the most talented QB UConn has had since Dan Orlovsky.

The Huskies return six starters from a defense that ranked sixth nationally.

Against the spread records: The Huskies are 13-6 as favorites. UConn is also on a 29-14 tear in non-conference games. The Bobcats are 15-5 on grass.

Top expert pick on this game: Yet another NFL preseason windfall is in the books, including going 9-2 in the week three, the one that simulates the regular season—and it sure did for us. We are 2-0 in college football with Bowling Green and Boise State. We have 11 sides up for Saturday now. Click now to purchase at OffshoreInsiders.com

LSU vs. Washington

Many experts expect Washington QB Jake Locker to thrive in new coach Steve Sarkisian’s system. Locker missed most of last year with a thumb injury.

The Huskies have lost 14 straight games. He is facing a rebuilt LSU defense under John Chavis.

Following a disappointing season, the Bengal Tigers have a new defensive coordinator, and Jordan Jefferson becomes the full-time QB after replacing Jarrett Lee late last year. Lee threw 16 interceptions against just 14 touchdowns before being replaced.

It also marks the debut of heralded freshman Russell Shepard for LSU. Shepard is a slash and wildcat jack of all trades.

LSU gave up more than 30 points five times last year in a year they lost five games. Washington was worse allowing 38.6 points per game. They return eight starters on defense.

LSU has won 19 straight games outside the conference, but this is the furthest the team has ever traveled. However 15,000 LSU fans have made the trip.

Against the spread records: The Tigers are 9-2 on turf and 20-of-28 in non-conference games. However they have dropped six straight as double digit favorites. The Huskies are on skids of 18-39 overall, 17-39 at home, 0-8 as an underdog and 0-7 as double digit dogs.

Top expert pick on this game: It’s the first Level 5 side of the year in college football for the founder of the revolutionary forensic sports handicapping. Superstar, the legendary Stevie Vincent is now on a 27-6 tear. Saturday has five NCAAF winners and three pro baseball burials. Included are three Level 5s in collegiate football and two in pro baseball. Click now to purchase

Western Michigan vs. Michigan

Michigan tries to fight distractions of accusations that they violated NCAA rules about how long the team can practice and speculation that it’s a sign that head coach Rich Rodriquez has lost the locker room.

WMU has beaten an automatic bowl qualifier each of the last three years, with a Big 10 team being a victim each of the last two.

Against the spread records: The Broncos are 7-15 overall, while the Wolverines are 8-20 as home favorites. They’ve dropped seven straight as favorites overall.

Where to bet: Get a 50 percent sign up bonus, a free DVD of hot babes and free sports magazines just for opening an account at BetUs Sportsbook

San Jose State vs. USC

The Trojans start a true freshman QB against a San Jose team that ranked 10th nationally against the pass and 11th in sacks last year. The Spartans though lost two CBs and a DL to the NFL but has seven returning starters on defense. Their coach Dick Tomey is famous for building the famed Arizona Desert Swarm defenses of the 1990s. San Jose State will blitz the freshman often.

Against the spread records: The Spartans are on a 0-5 skid, while the Trojans are 23-6 the last 29 outside the Pac 10. Southern Cal is 35-17 their last 52 at home.

Top expert pick on this game: It’s a Level 5 pick on the total from superstar Stevie Vincent. It’s among five NCAA football picks plus pro baseball for just $40. Click now to purchase

Football Predictions: Georgia-Oklahoma State, Navy-Ohio State, Western Kentucky-Tennessee

We have even more football tipsheets in the free pick and articles section, written from the standpoint of beating the college football odds.

Western Kentucky vs. Tennessee

Handicapping notes: Lane Kiffin makes his debut as head coach of Vol Nation. He debuts against a team rated dead last in the so-called Football Bowl Subdivision. They return just nine starters from a 2-10 straight up team that is making their debut in what we still call Division I.

The Hilltoppers have 57 freshman, redshirt frosh, and sophomores. Only two seniors start on defense and five true freshman will be counted on. WKU has new coordinators on both sides of the ball.

Tennessee star receiver Gerald Jones is out as is C Josh McNeil who has 35 starts under his belt. Tennessee is expected to play nine defensive linemen.

Against the spread records: The Hilltoppers have dropped 5-of-6 overall, while the Vols are 8-18 their last 26 as home favorites.

Top expert pick on this game: The founder of groundbreaking forensic sports handicapping has a Level 5 total in this game. Superstar, the legendary Stevie Vincent is now on a 27-6 tear. Saturday has five NCAAF winners and three pro baseball burials. Included are three Level 5s in collegiate football and two in pro baseball. Click now to purchase at OffshoreInsiders.com

Navy vs. Ohio State

Not only has Ohio State never seen the triple option offense, but it could be a huge look-ahead game as they host USC next week.

The Buckeyes must replace RB Chris Wells, a player they were clearly better when he was healthy. Ohio State is minus three LB starters from last year, plus CB Malcolm Jenkins, a first round draft pick.

Navy led the nation is rushing each of the last four years and returns seven starters from a defense that allowed 21.4 points per game. Highly touted QB Ricky Dobbs takes over for the Midshipmen.

OSU must replace seven starters on offense.

Top expert pick on this game: The Midshipmen are 53-22 on the road. Ohio State has dropped 6-of-7 at home.

Georgia vs. Oklahoma State

UGA is 28-1 straight up in nonconference action under head coach Mark Richt. They are also a sensational 30-4 straight up on the road.

OSU starting TE Jamal Mosley has quit the team following several off the field brushes with the law. He will be replaced by Wilson Youman, who started four games last year and had one reception.

UGA starting QB Joe Cox is battling flu-like symptoms but is expected to play. He replaces top NFL draft pick Matt Stafford. The Dawgs also lost high first-round draft pick running back Knowshown Moreno. His expected replacement Caleb King is out with a strained hamstring. Oh, Mohamed Massaquoi is also gone.

OSU has most key players back from an offense that averaged 41 points per game. They face a Georgia team that has given up 38 or more points in four of their last five regular season games.

Top expert pick on this game: Yet another NFL preseason windfall is in the books, including going 9-2 in the week three, the one that simulates the regular season—and it sure did for us. We are 2-0 in college football with Bowling Green and Boise State. We have 11 sides up for Saturday now. Click now to purchase as Oklahoma State and Georgia is among the huge winner
