Scores and Odds: NIU-Wisconin, San Diego State-UCLA, Nevada-Notre Dame

Northern Illinois vs. Wisconsin

Handicapping notes: Two key offensive linemen are questionable for the Badgers: C John Moffitt and RG Bill Nagy. Starting LT Gabe Carimi is probable despite a knee injury. The offensive line was Wisconsin‘s most experienced unit, but if Moffitt and Nagy are out, they would start freshman Travis Frederick and sophomore Kevin Zeitler at C and RG respectively.

Against the spread records: The Huskies are 8-3 as double digit road underdogs. The Badgers are 13-5 outside of the Big 10.

San Diego State vs. UCLA

Handicapping notes: The Aztecs are without senior tailback Atiyyah Henderson, who has more than 1,400 career rushing yards. He has a fractured bone in his back. San Diego State will go with a three man rotation in his place and freshman Anthony Miller may get the start and be the “bell cow” of the group. San Diego State is emphasizing a power game.

Expected starting QB Kevin Craft was beaten out by freshman Kevin Prince for the UCLA starting job.

Don’t look for a moneyline upset as the Bruins are 20-0-1 all-time in the series. Fresh off a 2-10 straight up year, the Aztecs have a new head coach in Brad Hoke. But the big underdogs have 17 starters back and lost just 18 lettermen.

Hoke plays a unique 3-3-5 scheme on defense and they face a very young UCLA O-line that has 13 combined career starts at UCLA and a transfer Kai Maiava who started nine at Colorado.

Against the spread records: The Aztecs are 3-7 their last 10 outside the conference and 1-9 their last 10 to the Pac 10. The Bruins are 10-3 to the Mountain West and 21-7 their last 28 at home. They’ve also covered 19-of-28 on grass.
