These are actual premium sports betting service picks, though the big one from ScoresOddsPicks is on Arkansas vs. UGA. Here are some winners from the pro bettors.
Maryland at No. 21 West Virginia (-10) – 12:00 ET on ESPNU
The Mountaineers (2-0, 0-1 ATS) scored 15 points in the game’s final nine minutes to earn a 24-21 win over Marshall last week. Noel Devine carried the West Virginia offense, racking up 173 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown. While Devine and quarterback Geno Smith look sharp, the line has been mediocre at best, holding back the offense.
Maryland (2-0, 1-0 ATS) was out of control on offense in last week’s 62-3 romp over Morgan State. The game was out of hand in a hurry, as the Terps had a 24-0 lead just minutes into the second quarter. The defense has been especially impressive this year. Two weeks ago, Maryland stuffed Navy at the goal line with 34 seconds left—preserving a 17-14 victory.
Despite a win over Navy and the blowout against Morgan State, the Terrapins’ offense hasn’t been in top form. Hitting the road against West Virginia is a bad mismatch, as the Mountaineers are waiting to explode. They’ll rack up a pile of points and cover the spread.

No. 8 Nebraska (-4) at Washington – 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC
The Huskers have opened with two straight wins, though they’ve failed to cover against the spread so far (in fairness, they still won 49-10 and 38-17—not too shabby). Red-shirt freshman Taylor Martinez has been leading an explosive Nebraska offense that moves when he moves; Martinez is averaging 13.5 yards per carry. The defense was on fire against Idaho last week, racking up seven sacks and taking two of its five interceptions to the house.
But, if anyone can scorch that defense, it’s Jake Locker. Locker, a potential No. 1 overall NFL pick, has led Washington to a 1-1 start (1-1 against the spread). The Huskies are trying to rejuvenate their program, and a win over the Cornhuskers would go a long way to helping that. Defensively, Washington has played well over its past four games, but Martinez presents a whole new problem.
Nebraska is for real. Sure, Martinez is young, but you don’t need to be an expert at reading defenses to flee the pocket and rip off a 50-yard run. Locker will keep Washington around for a while, but there are just too many playmakers on the Cornhuskers’ side. Bet on Nebraska to cover.
