The Hawkeyes picked up their second straight win with a 35-7 home drubbing of Iowa State last weekend; Ricky Stanzi was good on 11-of-18 pass attempts for 204 yards and two touchdowns for Iowa in that game, while Adam Robinson ran for 156 yards and a score. The Wildcats destroyed Citadel 52-6 at home last time out, with Nic Grigsby running for 107 yards and three touchdowns on just 11 carries. The oddsmakers have Iowa pegged as a 1.5-point road favorite for this contest.

Top-ranked Alabama (-24) will be on the road against Duke on Saturday afternoon, while No. 2 Ohio State (-30.5) plays host to visiting Ohio. Elsewhere around the Top 25 on Saturday it’ll be Maryland at No. 21 West Virginia (-9.5), Kent State at No. 22 Penn State (-21), Massachusetts at No. 20 Michigan (-27.5), No. 12 Arkansas at Georgia (-2.5), Air Force at No. 7 Oklahoma (-17), Arizona State at No. 11 Wisconsin (-14), No. 18 USC (-13) at Minnesota, No. 8 Nebraska (-3) at Washington, No. 10 Florida (-14) at Tennessee, Baylor at No. 4 TCU (-21.5), Louisville at No. 25 Oregon State (-19.5), Portland State at No. 5 Oregon (-52), Furman at No. 13 South Carolina (-32), Mississippi State at No. 15 LSU (-7.5), Clemson at No. 16 Auburn (-7.5), No. 14 Utah (-22.5) at New Mexico, No. 6 Texas (-3.5) at Texas Tech, No. 23 Houston (-3) at UCLA, Wake Forest at No. 19 Stanford (-17), and finally No. 3 Boise State (-23.5) at Wyoming.

As well, there’s one Canadian Football League game on the schedule for Saturday, with Hamilton at British Columbia. The Tiger-Cats (5-5 SU, 5-5 ATS) are listed as the 3.5-point road underdogs against the Lions (3-7 SU, 4-6 ATS), with the total pegged at 49.5.

The American League schedule for Saturday has Detroit at the White Sox, the Yankees at Baltimore, Cleveland at Kansas City, Toronto at Boston, the Angels at Tampa Bay, Texas at Seattle, and Oakland at Minnesota. Dallas Braden (9-12, 3.56 ERA) is slated to take on Kevin Slowey (12-6, 4.24 ERA) in that Athletics/Twins matchup. Lefthander Braden has picked up the loss in each of his past three starts, giving up four runs on six hits over 5 2-3 innings of work last time out against the Red Sox. Righthander Slowey grabbed a win against the Indians in his most recent trip to the mound, surrendering just two unearned runs on six hits over five innings of work. Slowey fanned five in that game.

The National League on Saturday then offers up Colorado at the Dodgers, San Diego at St. Louis, Atlanta at the Mets, Arizona at Pittsburgh, Washington at Philadelphia, Cincinnati at Houston, the Cubs at Florida, and Milwaukee at San Francisco. Yovani Gallardo (12-7, 3.64 ERA) is expected to get the ball for the Brewers on Saturday, while the Giants counter with Tim Lincecum (14-9, 3.60 ERA). Righthander Gallardo blanked the Cubs on four hits over seven innings in his most recent start, striking out six batters in the win. Righthander Lincecum picked up his third straight victory last time out, holding the Padres to one run on seven hits in seven innings of work, and fanning nine.
