It’s the chic upset pick, Wisconsin beating Ohio State, but is it the accurate one for professional gambler picks? The great ScoresOddsPicks says, not so fast.
No. 1 Ohio State (-4) at No. 18 Wisconsin – Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET
Wisconsin (5-1, 0-5 ATS) can flip the balance of power in the Big Ten with a win, but the Badgers just haven’t played up to expectations this year, as their 0-5 record against the spread indicates. The offense came back to life in last week’s win over Minnesota, but it’s not like the Golden Gophers are defensive masterminds. At least the ground attack did what it was supposed to, racking up 250 yards.
The Buckeyes (6-0, 5-1 ATS) haven’t been challenged since an early September win over Miami. Last week, they topped Indiana 38-10. The most exciting news is the evolution of Terrelle Pryor, who didn’t have a single carry against the Hoosiers; instead, he shifted to pocket passer mode, going 24-30 for 334 yards and three touchdowns.
Ohio State has a whole bunch of ways to hurt you; Wisconsin doesn’t have the same luxury. If the Badgers are forced to lean on quarterback Scott Tolzien, as was the case in a loss to Michigan State a few weeks ago, they’re in trouble. Take the Buckeyes to win by a touchdown or so.
